Doolittle vs Feinstein
On April 13th FBI agents raided the Virginia home of Republican Representative John Doolittle. The raid was part of an ongoing investigation into the Jack Abramoff lobbyist scandal. The major news outlets duely reported the story as they should. But consider this to the way they treated the high profile scandal of Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein. Senator Feinstein resigned from the Military Construction Appropriations subcommittee (MILCON). The reason, her husband's companies received billions of dollars worth of contracts from MILCON during her tenure there.
Obviously the culture of corruption in Washington runs in both parties. The point I want to make is how the main stream media handles these incidences. In Representative Doolittle's case, the FBI raid was well covered in local, and national news outlets. but what about Senator Feinstein? It was secondary news sources such as blogs and Internet news sources that covered her resignation. There was hardly a peep from the major news outlets. These two issues point out the well known bias that the main stream media has for the Democratic party. A bias that the liberals pretend does not exist.
