The Intolerance of Progressives
Every political group tries to establish an identity, a brand name that represents the ideals for their party. The Progressives have worked hard to create the illusion that they are the party of tolerance, inclusiveness, and intellectualism. However the acts of the Progressives is anything but tolerant. The truth is that Progressives are the party of Marxism, Political Correctness, and intolerance. Don't believe me? Just take a look at Progressive websites. See how they are filled with hate, ridicule and foul language directed at anyone who dares to disagree with their dogma. A good example of this is the controversy surrounding comments made by ex-John Edwards staffer Amanda Marcotte.
Currently the Progressives on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors have moved to censor Conservative Political Talk Show Host Michael Savage. Now there is no doubt that Michael Savage is opinionated, and conservative. But the last time I looked that was not a crime in America. The Progressives would like to change all that. In the Supervisor's resolution, they condemn Mr. Savage for inciting hate and call for his radio station to fire him. You may not agree with Mr. Savage's politics, but if you honestly listen to him you will learn that he does not condone the use of violence or hate against any group. He does rail against special interest groups who's political agendas are anathema to his conservative values.
This kind of action brought by our government officials should be of concern to all Americans. If you believe in individual freedom and the freedom of speech, then you must oppose the ill-advised actions of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. The Supervisors seem to think that they are living in the Soviet Union, or Mao-Tse Tung's China; communist regimes that have more in common with the political views of these Supervisors then the likes of Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, or Samuel Adams.
Who's rule would you rather live under?
