You are Against Immigration!
One of the big issues of our time is illegal immigration. Poll after poll shows an unusually large percentage of the population is concerned about illegal immigration and it's effect on our society. So why is it that nothing is being done? Most people oppose drivers licenses for illegal immigrants yet many governments are trying to push licenses for illegal immigrants down our throats. Most people want the government to take control of the border but the government refuses, why? In a democratic country how can such a big issue that enjoys such a large consensus be stymied?
One answer is how well the benefactors of illegal immigration have shaped the debate. Look at how they have manipulated the debate by changing the words that are used. In the past a person who was in the country illegally was referred to as an illegal alien. Today they are referred to as an immigrant or an undocumented worker. The term illegal and alien have been dropped from the debate. It is easy to see why the proponents of illegal immigration want to change the terms of the debate in order to mask their intent.
Below are some definitions of the word alien:
-noun
1. a resident born in or belonging to another country who has not acquired citizenship by naturalization (distinguished from citizen).
2. a foreigner.
3. a person who has been estranged or excluded.
4. a creature from outer space; extraterrestrial.
–adjective
5. residing under a government or in a country other than that of one's birth without having or obtaining the status of citizenship there.
6. belonging or relating to aliens: alien property.
7. unlike one's own; strange; not belonging to one: alien speech.
8. adverse; hostile; opposed (usually fol. by to or from): ideas alien to modern thinking.
These are not very positive terms and imply a sense of strangeness, or being apart from the rest. This is not a term you want to use to make your case. Now lets look at the word immigrant:
–noun
1. a person who migrates to another country, usually for permanent residence.
2. an organism found in a new habitat.
–adjective
3. of or pertaining to immigrants and immigration: a department for immigrant affairs.
4. immigrating.
Now there is a big difference! Who would you be more inclined to support an illegal alien or an immigrant? That is how the game works. If you can detach yourself from the emotions of the issue, it is interesting to watch the process. First they drop the term illegal alien in favor of illegal immigrant. Then they drop the term illegal to further muddy the water. So now, if a person publicly opposes the flood of ILLEGAL ALIENS that are coming into the country, they are labeled as a hater of immigration. But the two are entirely different. So the next time you hear people debating about undocumented workers or undocumented immigrants, they are enforcing the big lie. We are not talking about people who took the time to get background checks and immigrate legally. We are talking about people who are sneaking into the country illegally.
