"No nation ever taxed itself into prosperity." - Ronald Regan
The Democrats would like to tell us that they can fix the economy by increasing taxes on the rich. But this is just part of the Marxist ideal of wealth redistribution and has nothing to do with improving the economy or improving the lives of hard working Americans.
It has been proven time and time again that raising taxes slows the economy and reduces the amount of taxes collected, while reducing the tax rate helps to spur the economy and increases the amount of tax revenue.
Obama himself has stated that he will not be able to enact many of his socialist programs due to the state of the economy. And some of the proposals in his economic plan will not be enacted until 2018. Long enough for him to get re-elected before we feel the full brunt of his programs.
If Obama believes so strongly that his ideas will improve our lives and our economy, then why is he afraid to enact them on day one?
