Questions

The dawn of the Obama presidency has arrived with an unbelievable amount of hero worship and high expectations. Below are some of my own thoughts and questions about the upcoming four years:

1. Will Obama ever live up to the messianic expectations of the progressives or their lemmings in the main stream media?

2. Can Obama keep even a tenth of his campaign promises?

3. Will the main stream media hold him to them? Or will they give their anointed one a pass in his first four years?

4. Will Hillary Clinton and the other Clintonistas follow Obama's lead or will they try to assert their own defacto government within the Obama administration?

5. Will Obama abandon his more radical political stances and move to the middle. This seems like it is his strategy considering many of his appointments. But can this hold or will his administration fall apart due to partisan bickering?

6. Will Nancy Pelosi work with Obama, or will she take up the mantle of the extreme left and push for radical socialist changes? It seems to me like she is already planning on having major confrontations with Obama. Maybe she has an eye on the Presidency in 2012?

7. Will Obama relax the pressure on Radical Islam? Obama is in a no win situation here. George Bush through luck or relentless pressure was able to prevent any more major attacks against Americans. But the Islamofacist only need to get lucky once. In a political sense, it doesn't matter if Obama decreases or increases the pressure on them.  If the Islamofacist manage a successful attack, it will be looked at as an Obama failure.

8. Obama's presidency for better or worse is going to be historic. For that reason, maybe it is appropriate to compare him to Lincoln. Like Lincoln, he is entering the office under difficult circumstances. If things go bad, he could be viewed as a colossal failure. If things go well he could be considered one of the great Presidents. A fact that I am sure he is painfully aware of.

The next few years will most likely be ones for the history books. Hopefully he will not become the second coming of  Vladimir Lenin. So hold on and lets hope that Barack is as skilled a President as he is a campaigner.
