When did common sense get replaced by politics at any cost?
There are a lot of issues for our country to address, and what we get most from our elected leaders is pure spin and very little action. Barack Obama promised change and bipartisanship. but I don't remember a President that has been more partisan than Obama. He talks about bipartisanship and moderation in front of the TV cameras and he gets most Americans to wag their head in agreement. But when he is back in the White House, he is stubbornly marching us down the failed road of Marxism.
Congress isn't any better. The Democrats seem to be more interested in prosecuting ex-Bush Administration employees for political fodder, then they are with figuring out real solutions to our problems. The Republicans turned a blind eye to mounting issues when they were in power. Now that they are out of power they seem content to just roll over and let the Democrats hang themselves and the country.
Where are the moderate voices in Congress? Where is the compromise? Where is the loyal opposition working with the party in power to craft common sense laws? Where is the lawmaker that puts their country before personal power and partisan politics? Those people may exist, but like the majority of Americans, their voice are silenced by the big money, megaphone voice special interest groups.
Where is the hoped for third party that can bring common sense back to America?
