First stop the nitpicking
President Obama has fallen on hard times. His policies are not as popular as they once were, and his approval rating has fallen. His opponents smelling blood have gone on the attack, criticizing every little misstep, gaff, or action that they can find away to pick apart.
President Bush had to deal with the same thing from the left when he was in office. I believe the constant harping on the left finally got to him and resulted in a President that basically had no power or influence for the last couple of years.
Now I am sure from a purely political point of view, that this is exactly what the opposition wants. The left wanted to bring President Bush down from day one. And the right would like to do a Bush whacking of their own on President Obama. That is the way politics goes, or is it? Does it really have to be one giant cat fight where each side sits there staring down the other; waiting for them to flinch or glance away so they can pounce? All the time growling and caterwauling at each other.
Now I am not a fan of President Obama or his policies. And I wouldn't mind at all if many of his programs do not get implemented or at the very least are watered down. President Obama is too much of a Marxist for my taste. But that doesn't mean that everything he does is wrong. And that doesn't mean that I want the President of the United States to be castrated by the political opposition.
I think it shows a lot more class to argue against the policies you don't agree with and prove your point with facts. In other words, lets have an open and honest debate about the issues and quit spending all our time and energy calling each other names and picking each other apart on side issues that do not matter that much. Lets start acting like the leaders of the free world and stop acting like a bunch of third graders on the playground.
