If Obama's health care plan is so wonderful, how come a major part of it doesn't go into effect until 2013?
The main focus of Obama's health care plan is to provide affordable health care for every American. Yet as stated in his plan under the section, "If You Don't Have Insurance" it says, "new high quality, affordable options will be available in the exchange. Beginning in 2013, the Exchange will give Americans without access to affordable insurance on the job, and small businesses one-stop shopping for insurance where they can easily compare options based on price, benefits, and quality."
President Obama has been trying to push his health care plan through Congress at break neck speed. It is his stated goal to pass a bill before the end of the year. But in the end, the major piece to his plan is pushed off until 2013. Why is that?
The answer is very simple. Delaying this part of the bill until 2013 lets the Democrats and Obama get through the 2010 and 2012 election cycles before the American public really gets a chance to find out what this health care plan does to them. So is that real change? Is that real leadership? Or is it another cowardly way for politicians to avoid taking responsibility for their actions?
