VAT will tax all income levels

Remember Obama's promise to only tax people who make over $200,000- $250,000? Remember how he insisted that if you made less than $200,000 you may even see your taxes go down? Well that was before the Obama, Pelosi,Reid spending spree started to take our country over the cliff.

Now they are desperately trying to find a way to prevent an economic meltdown, while keeping all of their programs. And one solution is a Value Added Tax (VAT). So what is a VAT? It is a sales tax on steroids. The idea is that you start with a raw product such as a ton of carrots and that gets a tax, lets say 10%. A food company buys that ton of carrots to make carrot juice. The carrot juice pays the VAT minus the taxes that was already paid by the carrot farmer. So at each level of the process that brings those carrots to market, the business pays a little more tax until it finally reaches the consumer.

Well guess what, all those layers of taxes, plus the accountants that are needed to keep it all straight will be added to the cost of the goods. And everyone rich or poor will be paying more for their goods and services.

The bottom line, a VAT will cost us all more money. Therefore it is a tax on all income levels.
