A religious organization
A large corporation

What is the difference? Laws govern each very distinctly.

There is really no difference. If you step back and take a look, you will see that each one in the end serves to empower itself. To have blind faith in anyone of those institutions based solely on the type of institution that you put the most trust in. Is to be blind yourself.
It is not true if you say government is all bad and religion is all good. Or that corporations are corrupt and seek only to exploit people while government is there to help. Each one of those institutions have examples of doing great evil and great good.
Understand that they are all heads of the same dragon.
