Age of the Elites

The second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence began with these immortal words, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights..." Thus one of the founding principals of the United States of America was created. That there was no such thing as a royal class, there was no such thing as the divine right to rule, that one person was not better than another just by the virtue of who their ancestors were. That all people are created equal, and all people have the ability and right to manage their own affairs. That anyone could have the ability to and chance to take part in the government.

For many years it was the tradition of American politicians not to bow before foreign princes because of this cherished belief of equality. Now our society did have their different economic classes. The Blue Bloods of New England, the rich families that were built up through the hard work of their common ancestors. It is human nature for people to want to feel special, to fell superior to others, so these groups, and societies would form. But in government, we were all created equal. Then a strange thing started to happen. About 10 years or so the main stream media started to talk about the elites. Who were these elites? What defined a person as one of the elites?

As it turned out the elites were generally, came from a rich family, were schooled in an Ivy League school such as Harvard, and held Progressive political beliefs. You could also become a member of the elites if you were a well know celebrity spokesperson for Progressive politics. So what if you were a smart, well educated conservative millionaire? Nope sorry if you are a conservative than you are not one of the elites; according to their mouth pieces in the main stream media. Just look at how Democratic politicians are portrayed as opposed to Republican politicians.

The Democrats are always intelligent, caring, moderate. Republicans are always stupid, racist, extremist. But what I find most interesting about this elitist phenomenon is that the Progressives, the people who are for the poor, the under privileged, the exploited, are the ones that are cultivating this culture of elitism. Of course it is no surprise when you look at the history of Marxism. The Progressive elitist is here to take care of you through their superior intelligence, wisdom, and caring. They will make decisions for your own good that you are not capable of doing. They will tell you what to eat. They will tell you what to think. They will tell you how much you can make. They will tell you how to live and you will be happy because they know better.

They will save the planet from your excesses. They will divide you into groups and then teach you how to get along with each other. They will become your parent, big brother, big sister. They will make your life wonderful if only you submit to their superior intelligence and let them help you.

Give up your freedom and submit to the happiness of servitude under the gently care of the elites like Obama...
