Democrats are not serious about cutting spending
We all know the problems that have arisen due to massive, uncontrolled government spending. We have seen the issue explode in countries like Greece and we know that the U.S. is not that far away from the same kinds of problems. Remember how during the last election campaign all of the candidates were talking about reducing the budget deficit? Are they keeping their promises?
It is obvious by now that for many politicians the talk of reigning in the budget for the most part was just ear candy; given out to the public so they could get elected or re-elected. Now the newly elected Tea Party candidates do seem to be trying to stick to their guns and are demanding real cuts in the budget. But they are under constant attack by the Democrat controlled media and sometimes by other conservatives that are not willing to rock the political boat too much.
While this issue is debated in Washington and in the media, pay close attention. Check several different sources. Read between the lines and you will come to understand that the real obstacle to budget reform is the Democratic Party. The leaders of the Democrats, Harry Reid, Barrack Obama, and Nancy Pelosi; the same gang of three that pushed this massive debt on us in the first place are working hard to deceive the public and prevent any real budget reform from being enacted.
You need look no further than the recent episode with Senator Schumer where reporters overheard him instructing other Senators to make sure they used the word extreme regarding the Republicans during a news conference. The other Democratic Senators took their marching orders and used the word extreme at every opportunity. Keep in mind that what the Democrats are calling extreme is the proposal to cut the federal budget by 4% compared to the Democrats bold proposal of cutting it by 1%.
It is said that money is the mothers milk of politics. And it is obvious to any honest student of history that the Democratic coalition is built around doling out money to various groups of people in our society. The Democrats have created the perception of need and dependency. Their power comes from the massive amounts of money they funnel to these pet special interest groups. They gather votes to keep themselves in power by scaring people. They perpetuate the belief that if you don't vote for a Democrat then you will lose all your government benefits. They rely on enticing people into government dependency. Once you have become dependent on the government then you will not dare to risk losing your benefits. You will vote for whomever you are told to vote for.
Fear and dependency is all the Democrats have to offer. So any cut in government spending is a cut into their power base. And no politician is willing to give up any of their power. That is why the Democrats will never offer real solutions to solve peoples problems. And that is why the Democrats will try every dirty trick in their very effective playbook to maintain this runaway train of mounting government debt.
