Oh how the Democrats are howling. The recent budget fight was an all out rumble over a 20% reduction of the increase in deficit spending. Keep that in mind. The new budget did not decrease the deficit. It merely slowed down the rate of growth. A good analogy I heard was image a car speeding towards a cliff. George Bush took over the wheel and sped the car up to 60 MPH. Then Barack Obama took the wheel and sped the car to 100 MPH. After much arguing and fighting the Republicans grab the wheel and slowed the car down to 80 MPH. Folks we are still speeding to the cliff and it is getting closer with every second.

That is why the S&P downgraded U.S. Treasury bonds. But to listen to the wailing of the Democrats it is all because of the Tea Party. The only group in Washington that actually stood by their campaign pledge to reduce spending without raising taxes. Oh sure, during the last election all the politicians were concerned about the deficit. They all wanted to bring spending under control. But once they were elected it was business as usual. Except for the Tea Party. I guess the Old Boys network in Washington isn't use to politicians that mean what they say and do what they mean.
